Dark Entries is releasing another collection of archival Patrick Cowley music.

Some Funkettes, the latest addition to a series of Cowley releases on Dark Entries over the last seven years, is a collection of previously unreleased cover songs recorded between 1975 and 1977.

Taking in eight tracks in total, Some Funkettes features covers of Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love', The Temptations' 'Papa Was A Rolling Stone', Herbie Hancock's 'Chameleon' and People's Choice's 'Do It Anyway You Wanna', amongst other cuts. You can hear preview clips above.

Some Funkettes has been made possible with help from Patrick's brother Jim and his former studiomate Maurice Tani. All songs were mastered for vinyl by George Horn, while the sleeve consists of a collage designed in 1975 by Cowley's former roommate Francesca Rosa that was found covering a reel to reel box.

Each record comes with an insert featuring a four-page essay by Francesca as well as a postcard featuring liner notes and a photograph by Cowley's roommate and best friend, Theresa McGinley. The release arrives just in time for what would have been Cowley's 70th birthday.

Dark Entries will release Some Funkettes on October 19, 2020.
