Oi Polloi – ‘Nazi Scum’/’Bash The Fash’

Few – if any other – active punk bands remaining from the 80s still practice what they preach, but anarchist activists and emphatic advocates of Pastor Niemöller, Oi Polloi take literal advice from Hitler's inference in Mein Kampf that the only thing that could have stopped the Third Reich's ascent to power was to smash them from the streets at the very beginning. Oi Polloi spend as much time involved with activism as recording and their canon includes enough searing anti-capitalism and anti-fascist anthems that they could well fill this list on their own. Along with ‘Bash The Fash’, ‘Nazi Scum’ – with its memorable riff and chorus – remains a classic. Gleeful and inspirational soundtracks for kicking against the pricks.
