JR: Again, the drummer, Chris Pennie, he’s just incredible. Absolutely incredible. I definitely looked up to him massively. Their show was just fucking mental, you’d see the guitarist flipping his guitar around and still playing scales at the same time. That was what made me think, ‘Fuck me, I’ve got to get better, I’ve got to get to this level. I’ve got to learn to play drums in 5/7 time.’ I can’t remember where it was, but after one of them I got to meet the guitarist and have a little chat, which is when he sold me that EP. I wasn’t starstruck, but I was wondering, ‘Who are the guys that can play like that?’ I wanted to meet them. And they’re as tight live as they are on the record. I started following them around a little bit. I sat through a whole System Of A Down Gig just to see them as the support band.
