Prefab Sprout – From Langley Park To Memphis

I am a massive fan of Prefab Sprout and a huge fan of Paddy McAloon. I’ve got pretty much all the albums, I love them all equally. I love how he went off on what I would say was a fairly solitary road during a really quite in-your-face 80s. I thought that was rather courageous. Working with Thomas Dolby was a masterstroke and the whole thing just became its own planet really, up there in the celestial sphere. So he kind of just created his own world. It was wonderful to orbit his world and feed from it. He had such a beautiful quality to his voice. Beautiful harmonies and wonderful lyrics – sheer poetry. Everything about it was magical.
