The Beatles – The Beatles

As well as Abbey Road, The White Album was by far our favourite Beatles album. Very eclectic; it literally goes from the sublime to the ridiculous with a very unselfconscious free abandon. I really loved that. ‘Blackbird’ is spiritual and beautiful beyond words. I’ve always really loved Paul McCartney’s voice so much. If there was a camp to fall in between Lennon and McCartney, I would fall into Paul’s! I was glued to his set at Glastonbury in June and I felt very emotional watching it. He operates best in a band like that. Wings were a phenomenal band, including Linda who was an incredible musician. She was often criticised, but she had a phenomenal talent and she was a huge influence on me.
