"It's funny, but the band I did right before Earth had a song called 'Baker's Dozen'. These are in no particular order, so please don't view this as a best-of or an endorsement of any sort of rating system, merely 13 records I could think of rationally while sitting in a London hotel room." - Dylan Carlson

Earth's new album, Angels of Darkness And Demons Of Light Volume II is out now on Southern Lord.

Really top list of great albums, nicely accessible and unpretentious, sent me back to listen to Fairport. Also Mr Carlson sounds like a proper fan, enjoyed his comms.

Actually, the tracks are called "crazy man Michael" and "sailor's life" - kind of important to get the track names right with this sort of thing.

Completely agree re The Ghetto Walk from the A Silent Way sessions, it's a stunner and a mystery why is was never released before.

What's the reason for hating on Rasputina? I know they played with Nirvana on Unplugged...is there a personal reason? Just asking because they have some great songs. Love Smoke Fairies too!
