Rotterdam's WORM organisation marks a chance of artistic director with a special celebration

Rotterdam's WORM organisation, a non-profit foundation focused on experimental art, primarily within music and film, will host what they are describing as an "avant-garde" celebration tomorrow to mark their first change in artistic director in almost two decades, with Hajo Doorn to stand down from the role.

You can find out more about the change here and read on for all the details of tomorrow's celebration, in the suitably extravagant style of the team at WORM. Find out more about tomorrow's event here.

"The spirit of Provo, Fluxus, Dada and Punk is still strong in WORM, Rotterdam. WORM stages the coronation of its new artistic leader with theatre, performance, art, music, MAGIC and choirs!

"WORM will prove once again that it helps keep the avant-garde flame burning in the Netherlands. The event, "La Big Festucatio" on 10 March is a full-blown avantgarde coronation celebrating leaving director Hajo Doorn's 20 year leadership, and sees the investure of new director, Janpier Brands.

"It is also a celebration of WORM's legacy as one of the few genuinely creative, socio-artistically inclusive, and "free" spaces left in an increasingly gentrified Dutch cityscape. This "artistic happening" taps into the spirit of the Provos' demos round the Lievertje statue back in the mid 60s. Free entry."
