New band see Joy Division shaped bear trap. Run straight into it. Escape relatively unscathed. Other bands – Paul Young included – not so lucky.

Nouvelle Vague. There is a conceptual joke of sorts going on here in that "nouvelle vague" roughly translates as new wave or bossa nova and this is to all intents and purposes, a bossa nova cover version or a new wave (oh, alright then post punk/goth) song. They just about side step accusations of wackiness with their played with a straight bat version putting them into an entirely loftier strata than Paul Anka plays Nirvana or some such. For further listening, try their awesome and breathless cover of ‘Too Drunk To Fuck’. It also confirms what we have long suspected: there is no sentence known to man that wouldn’t sound better if spoken by a French woman.
