Moby To Sell Drum Machines For Charity

Almost 200 drum machines from Moby's personal collection are to be sold to raise money for charity

Moby will put almost 200 drum machines from his personal collection of music equipment up for sale this week via gear marketplace Reverb.

Proceeds from the sale of the drum machines will go to The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine who have previously benefitted from recent sales Moby has also held of some of his synths and records.

"I’ve always been a little obsessed with drum machines," Moby says. "In fact, I’ve always been a lot obsessed with drum machines. Over the years, I presumptuously believe that I have come up with the largest collection of analog drum machines in the world."

Amongst the equipment set to be sold is a Roland TR-909 which he bought at New York shop Rogue Music during the 1990s, as well as some very rare machines such as the Chamberlin Rhythmate, of which two will be available.

The sale goes live this Thursday (October 11). You can find more information here.
