Moby Selling Record Collection For Charity

Moby will sell off his personal record collection to raise money for anti-cruelty non-profit charity Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

Moby is to put his record collection up for sale tomorrow (June 14) in a bid to raise money for an anti-cruelty charity called the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

The sale will take place on online marketplace Reverb LP, and amongst the records up for sale are various house, techno and hip hop 12"s from his collection of records he used to DJ with early in his career. Also included are his own copies of almost every one of his records.

"These are all the records that I bought and loved and played and carried all around the world," Moby says in a video shared to announce the sale, which you can watch above. "I would rather you have them than me, because if you have them, you’ll play them, you’ll love them, and the money will go to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. So everybody wins. Well, except me, because now I don’t have any records."

In April, he also sold more than 100 pieces of music equipment via Reverb, with the proceeds from that sale also going to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
