Details of this year’s ACCA Digital-curated series of events at Brighton Digital Festival have been announced, covering a number of live performances, audiovisual installations and panels.
As part of ACCA Digital’s programme at the festival, Holly Herndon will bring her PROTO live show to Brighton on October 17, while on October 9, Caterina Barbieri will team up with mutimedia artist Ruben Spini for an audiovisual live set.
Elsewhere on the programme, Laurie Anderson and Hsin-Chien Huang will follow their 2018 VR-based project Chalkroom, which they presented at last year’s festival, with another VR-focused project called To The Moon. It’s been created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing and will be on show from September 30 – October 4.
On October 11, Planningtorock will present a reworked set with material drawn from their latest album, Powerhouse, in collaboration with artist and producer Simonne Jones. It will see them premiere previously unheard acoustic interpretations of tracks from the album. There will also be a genderqueer afterparty for this particular show which will see Planningtorock playing an electronic-focused set alongside YaYa Bones and S/HE (Tomboys Don’t Cry).
October 15 sees Tim Hecker bring his recent Anoyo and Konoyo albums to Brighton. It is only one of two performances for Hecker presenting the albums in the UK this year and the night will be opened by a live set from RVNG Intl. artist Sugai Ken.
Brighton Digital Festival will run across multiple Brighton venues. For more information on the ACCA Digital programme, and to get tickets, head here.
