Bristol’s Simple Things festival has shared details of its talks and workshops programme for this year which will run in tandem with October’s day-long event.
Leading Simple Things EXT. is Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja who will be in conversation with Andrew Melchior, Chief Technical Officer for the band’s live shows. Holly Herndon and partner and collaborator Mat Dryhurst will also host a talk, in addition to Herndon’s live show at the festival.
Aïsha Devi will present the world premiere of a new multi-user AR show called ‘I Am Not Always Where My Body Is’, while a further world premiere will come from Lee Gamble who has produced music for ‘CURVE’, an audiovisual installation by visual artist group Squidsoup.
Kode9, Cooly G and Hyperdub label manager Marcus Scott will lead a panel looking at 15 years of Hyperdub as the label continues its anniversary celebrations in 2019. In addition to this, On Vanishing Land, the audio essay by sound artist Justin Barton and the late Mark Fisher which was released through Hyperdub last month, will be aired in full in pitch black at Bristol’s IMAX theatre.
