The next instalment of the St John Sessions looks as ace as ever. Put on in association with NTS and BleeD, tQ favourite Holly Herndon will be recalibrating her vocal manipulation practices especially for St. John’s Church in Hackney on September 2, playing a set "tailored in response to the acoustics and atmosphere of the church" she tells us. Read our interview with Herndon from 2012 here and listen to ‘Chorus’, the single she released earlier this year, below.
Also on the bill are Astor, the guise of field recording artist Mark Harwood, while headlining the event will be Lonnie Holley, the outsider musician and visual artist, playing London for the first time since a set at Cafe Oto last year following the release of his Keeping A Record Of It album. Tickets are over at the Sessions’ website and the Facebook event is here.
