Vanishing Twin For May tQ Gig

Vanishing Twin and Robert Sotelo Group join us at London's Total Refreshment Centre in May for a night of live music raising money for tQ

After a brilliant start to the year at the Lexington just below our office, with a week of fundraising gigs that saw Richard Dawson, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, Wrangler and more play live, we are back in May with another night of live music, this time at Total Refreshment Centre on May 15.

We’re delighted to be inviting Vanishing Twin to join us on the night, as they celebrate the release of an upcoming limited edition cassette to be announced very soon. They will play music from that cassette and more, headed up by singer Cathy Lucas.

Also performing on the night is Robert Sotelo backed by a new group of musicians. Having recently relocated to Glasgow, Robert and the band will have a host of new songs to play live at the gig as they continue work on the follow-up to last year’s album Cusp which was released via Upset The Rhythm.

The ensemble plan to record a new tape this Summer and they’re dialling back on live shows until that record’s completion. This will also be Sotelo’s only London date around the release of a new 7” on Vancouver’s Kingfisher Bluez label which is due out next month.

DJ sets on the night will also be provided by our own John Doran and The Horrors’ Tom Furse.

Tickets are on sale now via DICE and priced at £9. Head here to snap one up, and help tQ raise money to continue supporting fresh and exciting new music. You can find the Facebook event page here.

If you’re unable to attend the live shows, please consider making a donation to help keep The Quietus running. To find out more about why we need your help, and to make either a one off or recurring donation, click here.
