Unsound Line-Up Partly Announced

Polish festival reveals part of its line-up in advance as part of 'Surprise' theme with appearances from Holly Herndon, HEALTH and Shackleton x Nissenenmondai among those confirmed

Earlier this year it was revealed that the theme for this year’s edition of Unsound in Kraków would be ‘Surprise’ and in-keeping with that the organisers announced that only part of the line-up would be publicly available ahead of the festival. This morning those names have been revealed, with Holly Herndon (alongside collaborator Colin Self), HEALTH, Shackleton x Nissenenmondai, Rabit & Kuedo, Andy Stott, Liturgy and many more featuring among the announcement.

There will also be yoga sessions led by Laraaji, plus live appearances from Jlin, Alessandro Cortini, Surgeon & Starlight, Charles Cohen and Rabih Beaini, Amnesia Scanner, Nozinja, Zenker Brothers, Elysia Crampton, Untold, Aurora Halal, Romans (Tin Man and Gunnar Haslam) and more. This year’s festival will feature healthy DJ representation too with sets from The Black Madonna, Galcher Lustwerk, Low Jack, DJ Bone, Optimo, RP Boo, Nidia Minaj, UNiiQU3, Levon Vincent, Helena Hauff (playing back-to-back with an unannounced German DJ), DJ Nobu, Lexxi b2b Endgame and many more. Among the secret acts are a fair share of world premiere and live premiere appearances too.

Individual tickets to events held as part of Unsound will be available from 11am today and you can get your hands on them, as well as check out the schedule and full line-up as it stands, here. Unsound hope that the ‘Surprise’ theme will "establish tension between the known and the unknown" and "play with the preconceptions we bring to the act of listening". There will also be new, unique venues in use as part of this year’s event, including an underground chamber in a salt mine. There will be a small number of further announcements ahead of the festival including artists and a day program involving panel discussions exploring this year’s theme further. Unsound 2015 takes place from October 11-18 in Kraków, Poland.
