New Thurston Moore Group LP On The Way

The next Thurston Moore Group album sees Jon Leidecker, AKA Wobbly, enter the fold; plus win tickets for their show at London's EartH later this month

The Thurston Moore Group are set to release a new album later this year, titled Spirit Counsel.

The album sees San Francisco-based experimental electronic musician Jon Leidecker, AKA Wobbly, join the group as a studio member. His work on the record follows on from him touring part of the US last year and Denmark earlier this year with the band, while Spirit Counsel – which will be released as a 3-CD boxset – is the first LP from the Thurston Moore Group since 2017’s Rock N Roll Consciousness.

"We all fell for Jon during an unforgettable moment on the platform of the train station in rural Denmark as we stood beside him with other passengers and witnessed in awe as he and his hand-held electronics conducted an extensive conversation with the local crows," says a press release quote attributed to the group. "Suddenly all these birds flew in and surrounded him on the train platform and began singing with him."

Spirit Counsel will be released via The Daydream Library Series Record Label on September 21, and the release will come with a special booklet featuring Moore’s selection of photographs, lyrics and handwritten scores for recent 12-string electric and acoustic concerts. The first official Thurston Moore Group show with Wobbly as a member will take place at London’s EartH on May 31, and below, we have

two pairs of tickets for the show to give away to two different winners.
