As we’ve previously reported, Reading’s Third Rail festival is scheduled to take place in July. Now, alongside the initial set of artists announced, the festival have added both A Winged Victory For The Sullen and Oliver Wilde to their line-up.
Ambient duo A Winged Victory for the Sullen, comprised of composer Dustin O’Halloran and former Stars Of The Lid’s Adam Wiltzie, are gearing up for the release of their second album Atomos. Bristol shoegazer Oliver Wilde, has recently released his latest album Red Tide Opal.
The bands will be joining a varied roster including Quietus favourites Grumbling Fur, Teeth Of The Sea and more at the newly created one-day festival at Thames Prom in Reading. The festival was envisioned by Jo Bartlett and Danny Hagan, the founders of Green Man festival, and 2014 is its inaugural year. Other main stage acts at the festival include Lakker, Polar Bear, Boxed In, Black Channels and more, plus there will be talks including one entitled ‘C86 & The Birth Of Indie’ hosted by Neil Taylor. Other features on the day include a gaming space called The Youth Club. A cinema tent will also be set up in the grounds with a programme curated by the London Short Film Society. The Quietus’ own Luke Turner and John Doran will be DJing on the day alongside Keylen, Tim Rockins and Doubledotdash!?
The festival runs from noon until 10pm on Saturday July 5. You can pick up tickets for Third Rail at the Reading Arts Website. For more information and full line-up, click here to visit the Third Rail website.
