As we’ve previously reported, the Union Chapel are currently in the middle of their Organ Project, celebrating the recent restoration of their 19th-century Henry Willis Organ. Tomorrow night, they’ll be screening Carl Dreyer’s classic 1928 silent film The Passion Of Joan Of Arc, accompanied for the first time by composer Irene Buckley’s new score. It makes full use of the organ, which will be played by the rather well-versed James McVinnie, who’s performed with Philip Glass, Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry and The National – have a watch above.
You can get hold of tickets here, however: we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky reader. To be in with a chance of winning e-mail your answer to the following question to comps@thequietus.com, with JOAN in the subject line, by 10am Wednesday 17 July. The competition is only open to residents of the UK and Ireland, and to read the Quietus Competition terms & conditions, click here.
