Teho Teardo has today shared new track ‘London Offered Us Possible Mothers’, a taster of forthcoming record Grief Is A Thing With Feathers.
Grief Is A Thing With Feathers is the soundtrack to the forthcoming Barbican production of the same name, based on Max Porter’s award-winning novel. Opening 25 March, the production stars Cillian Murphy in the lead role and is adapted for stage by Enda Walsh, who co-authored David Bowie’s Lazarus stage show.
‘London Offered Us Possible Mothers’, alongside the rest of the album, was composed shortly after Teardo read Porter’s novel. Teardo combines harrowing string-work with something all the more dissonant, an unearthly accompaniment to the darkness of the production.
The album is out March 22 via Specula.
