The fantastic Supersonic festival has just announced its first confirmed guests for its tenth birthday instalment this Autumn.
Playing the Custard Factory in Digbeth, Birmingham this October will be Tim Hecker, JK Flesh, Dylan Carlson, Dope Body, Six Organs Of Admittance, Bohren & Der Club Of Gore, Flower/Corsano Duo, Carlton Melton, Goat, Lichens, Zeni Geva, Rangda and the Small But Hard showcase.
Tim Hecker featured prominently on our albums of the year chart in 2011 with his sublime Ravedeath, 1972 album, while Post Human, the caustic industrial metal dubstep album by Justin Broadrick’s JK Flesh is a shoe in for this year.
Elsewhere, we’re really keen to hear how Dylan Carlson’s English folk project is shaping up after he told us about it a few months ago. But one show we’re really keen on seeing is Dope Body, Baltimore’s noise rock sensations whose Natural History album will be reviewed on the Quietus soon.
Watch this space for more news on the world’s most consistently excellent extreme music festival.
