Sandwell District Reveal Archival Compilation, ‘WHERE NEXT?’

The forthcoming release takes in 12 tracks spanning the techno collective's respective careers

Sandwell District – otherwise known as the techno trio of Function, Regis and Silent Servant – have a new archival compilation on the way.

Set for release in February, and following on from last year’s reissue of the collective’s sole studio album album, WHERE NEXT? features 12 tracks that span the three producers’ respective individual careers. Among them are classics such as Function’s ‘Reykjavik’ and Regis’ ‘Man Is The Superior Animal’. You can listen to one of the compilation’s tracks, ‘Sampler 1 B1 (Regis Edit)’, above.

Speaking about the original era of Sandwell District, Regis, AKA Karl O’Connor, said in a statement: "Sandwell at that time was all about work, work. It was at such a rate that we often had music available that didn’t fit the moment or release schedule, but was nonetheless important and found its home on limited releases. We now have had the time to fully realise and compile what we consider the essence of the Sandwell District."

The Point Of Departure Recording Company will release WHERE NEXT? on February 23, 2024.
