Sandwell District are reissuing their debut and sole studio album to date, Feed-Forward.
Coming 13 years on from its original release, the reissue will mark the first time that the album has been officially pressed on vinyl since its original release, while it will also be made available digitally for the first time. To mark the announcement of the reissue, Sandwell District – AKA Regis, Function, Female and Silent Servant – have shared a previously unreleased track, ‘Surrender To The Unknown’, which appears on the updated release and can be listened to above.
Released three days before Christmas Day of 2010, Feed-Forward was given a once-only limited pressing and sold out almost instantly. Bringing together elements of industrial and dub techno, copies of the original pressing have since gone on to sell for hundreds of pounds on resale marketplaces such as Discogs.
Sandwell District will also return for select live shows this year with a core trio of Regis, Function and Silent Servant. So far, they’ve confirmed two appearances at Japan’s Rural festival on July 16 and Tilburg festival Draaimolenon September 9.
The return of Sandwell District follows on from Function’s recent relaunch of his Infrastructure New York label and confirmation of plans to reissue a number of past releases.
The Point Of Departure Recording Company will release Feed-Forward on July 28, 2023.
