Instant Classic Returns From Two-Year Hiatus

The Polish label's first release since April 2020 is a debut album from improvisation trio Hinode Tapes

Instant Classic has returned from a two-year hiatus that began in mid-2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Polish label will mark its return with the release of a self-titled debut album by Polish improvisation trio Hinode Tapes later this week. The record blends elements of free jazz, post-rock and ambient music, and makes use of saxophone, guitar, electronics and various forms of percussion across its five pieces. Instant Classic’s last release before its hiatus, an album by Dynasonic called #2, was released in April 2020. Before that, the label had released a steady stream of records by artists from across the Polish underground music scene – many of which featured among tQ’s round-ups of the year’s best albums.

Instant Classic will release Hinode Tapes on August 26, 2022.
