Perc’s excellent 2014 continues apace with the release of ‘Grindr’, an appropriately throbby ode to the gay dating app that you can listen to above. Check the ‘wooo’ yelping sound last heard on The Prodigy’s ‘Voodoo People’, and, in contrast to the rough and ready rhythms and noise heard on The Power & The Glory, a more slick, linear, appropriately lubed-up sound. It’s still subtle though, there’s no "pics m8? Want fuck? Show cock now" here – this is seductive, burbling, potent, oscillations creaking like knees on the Chariots booth floors, strong and long, dirty and illicit in a way of which we heartily approve. ‘Grindr’ is released on CLR label as part of a series of tracks commissioned by Rebekah called Mind Sets. We’re told that "With Mind Sets, CLR artist Rebekah is introducing a new format on the imprint, consisting of an hour and a half mix and two subsequent Ep Samplers for release." Also appearing with Perc’s ‘Grindr’ will be tracks by Dark Chambers, Pfirter and Operator and you can pre-order the release here.
