We’re pleased to announce a brand new pop concert promoted by the Quietus, taking place at London’s Birthdays venue as spring finally emerges from the creaking fingers of winter. We’ve had Perc play for us a couple of times now – once after Haxan Cloak Upstairs At The Garage, and secondly at our fifth birthday party in the summer of 2013. Perc’s next appearance at a Quietus event, on Thursday 19 March 2014, will see him perform a special set drawn from both his more abstract, noisy work and dancefloor-focussed material and a rare opportunity to see him play without having to stay up until 6 am. Perc will be joined live by Dan Chandler of Sex Swing/Dethscalator, who provided the vocals for ‘Take Your Body Off’, one of the standout tracks from Perc’s 2014 LP The Power & The Glory. You can get an idea of what to expect from the Resident Advisor session the pair recorded above. This will be heavy.
Supporting are Bronze Teeth, the duo of Dominic Butler (ex of Factory Floor) and Richard Smith, aka L/F/D/M/. Their first 12" for the ever-excellent Diagonal Records was akin to having the serrations on a bread knife cut through the cartilage of your upper ear, and of their first-ever live set at Unsound festival we wrote that their "slowly grinding, droning, fizzing rattle has an inexorable energy to it that gradually sucks and teases the energy from deepest recesses into legs and arms". You can read our interview with Bronze Teeth here. DJing on the night will be tQ’s Hamburger Ladies: Angst Music For Sex People. Tickets are available from See Tickets, Eventbrite, Stargreen and Songkick.
