Perc will release a new album, entitled Bitter Music, via his Perc Trax label in April.
The album will mark his third full-length release, following on from 2011’s Wicker & Steel and 2014’s The Power And The Glory. The new album originally took a very inward looking approach when work on it began in March of last year, but this unfolded in light of the changing political climate. Pre-production for the album started at Manchester’s Eve Studios, which specialises in collecting and restoring equipment salvaged from the now defunct BBC Radiophonic Workshop, with early electro-acoustic experimentations name-checked as a theme explored on the album.
The album features a vocal collaboration with Gazelle Twin, and takes in typically forceful industrial techno, as well as a number of dark ambient experimentations. Bitter Music is set for release on April 28. This Saturday 4th February , Perc will play Cosey Club Is Fab And Kinky at the Tunnel Club, Hull as part of The Quietus’ celebrations of COUM Transmissions. Also on the bill is Cosey Club resident Richard D Clouston, tickets from Resident Advisor here.
