Nick Cave And Warren Ellis Reveal New Documentary

'This Much I Know To Be True', which will get a global cinema release, follows the pair as they bring songs from their last two albums together to life

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis will be the focus of a new feature documentary, This Much I Know To Be True.

The film, shot on location in London and Brighton, and directed by Andrew Dominik, follows the two artists as they develop the tracks that made up their last two albums together, 2019’s Ghosteen (released as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) and 2021’s Carnage (released as Nick Cave & Warren Ellis). It offers a document of their first ever live performances of those albums, filmed in spring 2021 ahead of their UK tour, as they are accompanied by singers and a string quartet to bring the tracks to life for the live stage. Marianne Faithfull also makes a guest appearance. Watch a clip from the documentary above.

The film is billed as a companion piece to Andrew Dominik’s 2016 film One More Time With Feeling, which documented the writing and recording process of the Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album Skeleton Tree. The new film, much like One More Time With Feeling, will get a global cinema release, with tickets going on sale on March 23 for the May release event. Full details will follow via Nick Cave’s website.

This Much I Know To Be True is out on May 11, 2022.
