Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are to release a new double album next week, titled Ghosteen.

Writing via The Red Hand Files, which frequently sees Cave answering fan questions, he told one fan that "you can expect a new album next week," before going on to reveal its title and details of each part. Part one of the double album will consist of eight tracks, while part two consists of two longer songs that are linked by a spoken word piece. Cave adds that "the songs on the first album are the children" and "the songs on the second album are their parents." He also writes that "Ghosteen is a migrating spirit."
