Nick Cave Says He Worked With Flatbush Zombies

He made the revelation in a recent instalment of his Red Hand Files letters series

Nick Cave has revealed that he once worked with rap trio Flatbush Zombies on what he described as "an extraordinarily wild and fucked-up piece of hip-hop".

As FACT reports, Cave shared the news with fans in an instalment of his Red Hand Files letters series which sees him write at length in response to fan questions. This particular instalment focused on his thoughts on music merchandise, in which he reveals that he is the owner of "a very beautiful Flatbush Zombies T-shirt, bought around the release of their first album".

He continues: "A few years ago the Zombies and I attempted a collaboration and I sent them my version of the T. Rex classic, ‘Cosmic Dancer’. They said they ‘could not relate to it’ but they radically pitch-shifted my voice, sampled it and used it anyway, as the percussive heartbeat to an extraordinarily wild and fucked-up piece of hip-hop that neither of us released.
