Tomorrow night, the Liverpool International Music Festival, Chris Bye and the Quietus will be launching our Minor Characters project. It sees East India Youth, Forest Swords, The Lone Taxidermist, English Heretic, Ten Mouth Electron and Luke Abbott imagining the lives of the lesser known figures from books, plays and films through original compositions.
While all of these will be released as free downloads by the Quietus Phonographic Corporation later this year, Abbott will kick off the project by performing his piece as part of a live set at The Kazimier. There’ll be support from James Binary and Ten Mouth Electron and DJ sets by Outfit and Big Effigy. As well as the music, there’ll be an exhibition of artwork inspired by the featured characters, with work from Liverpudlian artist Gary McGarvey, aka Horse.
It’s a free event, so make sure you get yourself down there from 8pm onwards; for further details, head to the Minor Characters website here.
