Hyper-prolific and eclectic producer and DJ Max Cooper is gearing up to release his debut album Human, following the extensive EPs, remixes and audio-visual collaborations he’s been putting out over the last seven years. Out on March 14 on FIELDS, Cooper’s following up the first single, ‘Adrift’ (have a listen over at his SoundCloud), with ‘Impacts’ on February 3, which will come with remixes from a pair of Quietus favourites, Factory Floor’s Gabe Gurnsey and Perc. We’ve got a first play of the latter, which undertakes a brutal demolition job of the original, already a juddering, abrasive techno cut, placing blunt, gunshot-like blasts over creeping static and something decidedly unsettling synths that lear up – have a listen below, and pre-order the single here:
