Manic Street Preachers Share Previously Unreleased Track, ‘Studies In Paralysis’

It features on the upcoming remixed and reconstructed reissue of the band's 2001 album 'Know Your Enemy'

Manic Street Preachers have shared a previously unreleased track, called ‘Studies In Paralysis’, which dates back to the recording sessions for the band’s 2001 album Know Your Enemy.

The track was recorded at Miloco Studios in London while the band were working on that album, but was ultimately left off the final record. It will now receive its first-time release as part of the upcoming remixed and reconstructed reissue of Know Your Enemy, which will see the album released to form two separate record as was originally planned in 2001.

Above, you can watch a video for ‘Studies In Paralysis’, which was put together by Kieran Evans from footage of the Know Your Enemy recording sessions that was sent to him by Manic Street Preachers’ Nicky Wire. "This footage was very different from previous recording sessions he’d filmed," Evans said in a statement. "There was a seriousness to everyone’s behaviour and recording performances. There was no frivolity or funny off camera ‘moments’. The atmosphere felt intense, you could feel the pressure they were under."

Columbia will release Know Your Enemy on September 9, 2022.
