As we previously reported, in advance of their long-awaited debut album – set for release through DFA – London trio Factory Floor are putting out a limited remixes 12", containing remixes of last year’s single ‘Two Different Ways’ by Perc Trax boss Perc and former Cabaret Voltaire man Richard H. Kirk.
Having previously drafted in the three members of Factory Floor to remix tracks from Forward Strategy Group’s Labour Division album, Perc returns the favour to a the same degree, turning in a whopping three remixes of the title track – a club remix, a dub remix, and a ‘Noisy Mix’. For our money the main remix, which you can hear below (via Pitchfork) is one of the most brutally effective club tracks he’s released for a while, all smoke-belching low-end and snares clipped from the clang of wrench hitting sheet metal. Around its middle it drops out, leaving Nik Colk Void’s voice hanging in space for half a minute or so, before everything collapses in around her.
The remixes EP is available digitally and on limited edition spraypainted CD and vinyl 12". Both formats are limited to 100 copies, and are released next week (August 27th).
