John Doran’s Long Weekend

Not stopping to consider a Bank Holiday break, tQ's J-Do sweeps through the West Mids and Yorkshire this weekend with a talented bunch of chums

Through a remarkable feat of willpower, perseverance and good old-fashioned English fighting spirit, tQ editor John Doran is still on the road touring his new book Jolly Lad with Arabrot’s Kjetil Nernes by his side.

He’ll be joined by the thoroughly excellent Chrononautz for shows at Eastside Arts in Birmingham, The Old Police House in Gateshead, Bradford Threadfest and Outlaws Yacht Club in Leeds.

Also on the bill for Birmingham, Gateshead and Bradford will be tQ contributor and insatiable polymath Wyndham Wallace whose new book Lee, Myself & I: Inside The Very Special World Of Lee Hazlewood was released just this week.

On top of that King Midas Sound’s Roger Robinson joins tonight’s bill at Birmingham’s Eastside Arts, Karin Park and Andrew Liles of Nurse With Wound/Current 33 will be at Bradford’s Threadfest on Sunday, and the poet Rick Holland, who has previously collaborated with such luminaries as Brian Eno and Jon Hopkins, will read on Monday in Leeds.

Difficult to digest all of that? Full details are below.
