The poet and producer duo that is Old Man Diode and Rick Holland recently played a live show at London’s Macbeth in celebration of the release of their album King Krill. The gig was filmed and you can check out a performance of their track ‘Love Parade’ above.
The video shows the energetic force that comes together when Diode and Holland perform on stage, coupling some crisp machine-gun drumming over a resonant bass and soulful vocals provided by IamFya. Having formed around a fascination with machine music and a growing sense of unease at the political stasis of growing up in the UK since the 1980s, the duo have placed a lot of emphasis on the power of live shows to create a sense of collective experience.
