Wolfgang Voigt has announced his first new album as GAS in almost two decades, following on from the highly regarded POP, released in 2000.
Entitled NARKOPOP, the album is said to see Voigt move away from the loops that made up its predecessor for something that unfolds more pointedly, moving between moments of subtlety and grandeur. The album is made up of 11 tracks and will be released across six sides of vinyl, while there will also be a digital release.
The new album follows on from the extensive boxset reissue of Voigt’s four previous GAS albums last year. NARKOPOP is out on on April 21 and Voigt will play as GAS at London’s Barbican on October 8. Read our piece celebrating 20 years of POP here.
