Previously Unreleased Ennio Morricone Music To Feature On New LP

Recordings captured between the '60s and '80s have been unearthed for 'Morricone Segreto'

Music by the late Ennio Morricone will be the focus of a new album being released next month.

Morricone Segreto focuses on the composer’s output between the ’60s and ’80s, and takes in seven previously unreleased tracks. The 27-track collection, the title of which translates to ‘Secret Morricone’ will offer an insight into the "hidden, dark-tinged and psychedelic side" of Morricone’s work, a press release says.

Morricone Segreto is being released to mark what would have been the composer’s 92nd birthday on November 10, with Morricone having passed away earlier this year.

The announcement of Morricone Segreto follows on from Dimensioni Sonore – Musiche Per L’Immagine E L’immaginazione, an extensive 103-track box set of Morricone and Bruno Nicolai’s library music, which is due out on October 30.

Decca / CAM Sugar will release Morricone Segreto on November 6, 2020.
