Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser has revealed full details of a new EP as part of her new Sun’s Signature project.
A collaboration between Fraser and her partner Damon Reece, Sun’s Signature’s first release will be a self-titled five-track EP. News of the record first filtered through in February when it appeared on a list of limited edition releases for this year’s Record Store Day, scheduled for April 23. Now, Fraser and Reece have unveiled a track from the EP, called ‘Golden Air’, which you can listen to above.
The songs on Sun’s Signature are said in a press release to have been "ruminating in the background of Fraser and Reece’s lives in some form for 20+ years, ever since Cocteau Twins broke up in 1997." Much of the EP was developed after an invitation from ANOHNI in 2012 for Fraser and Reece to perform at her edition of the Southbank Centre’s annual Meltdown festival. It was there that they debuted early forms of the new release’s tracks.
Partisan will release Sun’s Signature on June 18, 2022.
