And so, a little over a year after we first had a CD-R copy handed to tQ editor John Doran by East India Youth’s William Doyle, he’s announced the official release of Total Strife Forever, his debut album, a Jovian Bow Shock Award 2012 nominee and, simply put, one of the finest albums we’ve heard in a long time. It’ll be out on January 13, 2014, via Stolen Recordings, and will be followed by EIY’s first UK headline tour.
The album was briefly posted on SoundCloud last year, around the time we first interviewed Doyle, but Stolen will be giving it a full UK physical release, encased in Tida Bradshaw’s excellent, accurate artwork (see above), with P-Vine putting it out in Japan. Total Strife Forever also features two of the tracks on the Hostel EP, ‘Looking For Someone’ and ‘Heaven, How Long’, released by the Quietus Phonographic Corporation – get hold of that here.
