LISTEN: Perc Remixes East India Youth

Heaven, How Long gets a chilling disassembly from the banger-in-chief

Perc remixing East India Youth: prime OOF if ever there was such, but Ali Wells, for Perc is he, deploys none of his shunting kicks on this rework of ‘Heaven, How Long’. Instead, he dismantles the glorious centrepiece of Total Strife Forever and sets William Doyle’s vocals in a spacious sonic wasteland, strewn with half-heard field recordings and vicious radio static, creeping higher before collapsing inwards, subsumed in echoey layers. The end result is a brilliant, unerring inversion of the original and just as brutal in its way as his full-onslaught techno bangers.

Take a listen above and get hold of it on the digital single, coming out via Stolen Recordings, on June 16. In the meantime, take a look at EIY’s recent video for the track and his tour dates here.
