Cosey Fanni Tutti’s score for the 2020 film Delia Derbyshire: The Myths And The Legendary Tapes is to receive an official release.
Out in September, the album, which shares its name with Caroline Catz’s film, contains 15 of Fanni Tutti’s original soundtrack recordings, and will be issued via her own Conspiracy International label. It will follow on from the forthcoming release of a new book by Fanni Tutti, which explores connections between her work, and that of Derbyshire and 15th century Christian mystic Margery Kempe. You can preview the new album by listening to lead cut ‘Psychedelic Projections’ above.
Speaking about her work on the film’s soundtrack, Fanni Tutti said in a statement: "The compositions are inspired by my research of the Delia Derbyshire audio archive, Delia’s original compositional notes and techniques, which in combination with my admiration and love of Delia’s work provided a way to integrate her style and approach to music with my own. An alliance of our sensibilities."
Conspiracy International will release Delia Derbyshire: The Myths And The Legendary Tapes on September 16, 2022.
