Classic 90s Japanese Techno Albums by Ken Ishii and Susumu Yokota Set for Reissue

The two records have been remastered for an updated September release

Two classic Japanese techno albums from the 90s are being reissued this September for their 30th anniversaries.

Tokyo-based label MUSICMINE will handle the reissues of Ken Ishii’s Reference To Difference and Susumu Yokota’s Acid Mt. Fuji, which have both been newly remastered. The updated release of Reference To Difference will mark the first time that its full original tracklist has been made available on vinyl, while Acid Mt. Fuji has been expanded with additional tracks.

The two albums originally came out on Sublime Records, a subsidiary of MUSICMINE, and were both producers’ respective second LPs. They combine elements of techno, IDM and ambient music.

You can listen to the remastered versions of ‘Fading Sky’, from Ishii’s Reference To Difference, and ‘Kinoko’, from Yokota’s Acid Mt. Fuji, below.

MUSICMINE will release Reference To Difference (Remastered 30th Anniversary Edition) and Acid Mt. Fuji (Remastered 30th Anniversary Edition) on September 5, 2024.
