black midi have released a new live album, Live Fire, as a companion piece to 2022 record Hellfire.
Comprised of 11 tracks, the recordings featured on Live Fire were captured during a performance by the band at Porto’s NOS Primavera Sound festival in July of this year. The trio played alongside keyboardist Seth Evans, a regular fixture of their live set-up, for the performance. You can listen to a live rendition of ‘Sugar/Tzu’ from the new release above.
The live album – which is black midi’s second such record to date, following last year’s Live-Cade LP – has been made available exclusively on vinyl via Rough Trade to mark the record store’s announcement of its favourite 20 albums of 2022, a list in which Hellfire makes an appearance. Albums by the likes of The Smile, Mitski and Angel Olsen have also been given limited edition new vinyl pressings exclusive to Rough Trade.
Live Fire is out now on Rough Trade.
