London’s V&A Museum has launched an online archive project celebrating 50 years of Glastonbury festival.
As The Guardian reports, the seven-day online project launched this past Monday (June 22) and will continue through the week on what would have been the Somerset festival’s 50th anniversary edition.
The project is divided into two parts: the Glastonbury archive, which has been managed by the V&A since 2014, and a memory project, which encourages past attendees to share stories and memories from past editions. The memory project will form part of a larger V&A project which will set out the festival’s history.
Amongst the materials included in the V&A’s existing archive are photos, posters, and a number of features, as well as playlists of music and performances from past editions of the festival.

The 50th anniversary edition of Glastonbury was postponed to summer 2021 in March of this year due to COVID-19.
