Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

This is an absolute masterpiece. I played it on my Berghain debut when I did the Panorama Bar in April. Hearing that record alongside Delano Smith and Luke Hess – it sounds so fresh. You can hear decades of inspiration on other artists who have been working with that template.

I bought it in 1996 at Record Time in Detroit. I used to go over about once a year. It was quite an ordeal at the time. I had to fly there and then get a series of buses across Detroit. The area would get more and more mental and burnt out. And I was this little posh kid turning up with these lists. I picked up ‘Wandering Endlessly’ and it was mind-blowing. It’s got a couple of locked grooves on it. They’re amazing things.
