Baker's Dozen

Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

7. Lisa O’NeillAll Of This Is Chance

I really liked her from the off. She does a great version of ‘Lullaby Of London’ that I really like. But then I think on this album, something just seems to have happened to her. Her songwriting, her lyrics, they’re beautiful. It’s like real poetry, she’s just a towering figure. There’s something magical about this record. It draws you into it and the sound of her voice in her Cavan accent. It’s got this magical bird imagery that permeates it, I love it. It’s a deeply felt and beautifully written record that really deserves more attention. I think people need to look at it again and realise that this is a thing of fucking wonder.
