I wasn’t an M.I.A fan when Arular came out. It was too weird and too lo-fi for me. But then Kala blew my mind. Then Maya came out and I was like: ‘okay, this is what I wanna do’. Honestly this record is one of the main reasons I’m still doing what I do. I wanna use chainsaws, I wanna use printers, I wanna use all the shit you’re not supposed to put in a beat. I’m a fraud, I just copied that album!
