9. CreamGoodbye

We had to split. Robert Stigwood didn’t believe us but Eric and I decided to stop it – we’d had enough. The volume thing was ridiculous – anti-music. If no one can hear anybody, then what’s the point? At one gig, both Eric and I stopped playing for two whole choruses – and Jack wasn’t aware, he didn’t even know we’d stopped, it was that loud. There he was in front of these huge stacks and all he could hear was himself. Would Jack have liked to carry on with Cream? I know he would!
