Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

13. CreamRoyal Albert Hall London, May 2-3-5-6, 2005

The reunion gigs. That was really good, it was like 1966 all over again. A very happy occasion, extraordinary, magical. There had been a period where Jack got out of hand in the rehearsals, but we got over it. But then he blew it in New York. His behaviour at the subsequent Madison Square gigs was appalling. The magic went there. It was more like 1968 – we were going through the same motions again. He started behaving like he was leader of the band again. He took over the microphone onstage. Eric’s very reticent, always has been. He doesn’t talk much on the mic but Jack was rabbiting away – and playing too loud, again. But the Albert Hall was a wonderful experience, musically and in every other way.
