Artists discuss the 13 records that shaped their lives

3. King Kong

King Kong is a masterpiece. All the remakes of the original are really awful compared to the perfection of the original. What’s so perfect about it? Everything is perfect! It’s one of the rare movies that brings me back to childhood. I think I first saw it when I was 10 years old, in a cinema in Buenos Aires with my father. I think it’s the best movie for kids that I’ve ever seen. My other big memory was of Jason And The Argonauts which also used stop motion.

Lately, I saw a 3D enhanced version of The Wizard Of Oz, and it was incredibly well made. I like the 3D version even better than the original. I wish that the people who own the rights to the old King Kong would do a 3D enhanced version, it would be even more fun! The stop motion animation would be like little puppets in a theatre for marionettes.
